Sunan Abi Dawud is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath as-Sijistani (rahimahullah). It is widely considered to be among the six canonical collections of hadith (Kutub as-Sittah) of the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ). It consists of 5274 ahadith in 43 books. حَدَّثَنَا مَخْلَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، وَسَلَمَةُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ شَبِيبٍ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، يَرْفَعُ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَحْوَهُ .
A similar report (as previous) was narrated from a man from Thaqif, from 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair, who attributed the Hadith to the Prophet (ﷺ).
