Sunan Abi Dawud is a collection of hadith compiled by Imam Abu Dawud Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath as-Sijistani (rahimahullah). It is widely considered to be among the six canonical collections of hadith (Kutub as-Sittah) of the Sunnah of the Prophet (ﷺ). It consists of 5274 ahadith in 43 books. حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمْزَةُ الزَّيَّاتُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُقَدِّمُ ضُعَفَاءَ أَهْلِهِ بِغَلَسٍ وَيَأْمُرُهُمْ يَعْنِي لاَ يَرْمُونَ الْجَمْرَةَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ .
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to send ahead the weak members of his family in darkness (to Mina), and command them not to throw pebbles at jamrahs until the sun rose.
