Three-Narrator Ahadith

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ خُصَيْفَةَ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ - إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ - «أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ ظَاهَرَ بَيْنَ دِرْعَيْنِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ» وَحَدَّثَنَا بِهِ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى فَلَمْ يَسْتَثْنِ فِيهِ
English translation
Al-Sāʾib ibn Yazīd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported — Sufyān once qualifying it with “if Allah wills” — that the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ wore two coats of mail, one over the other, on the Day of Uḥud; Sufyān narrated it another time without that qualification. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 257
