Three-Narrator Ahadith

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَاصِمٌ بِالْكُوفَةِ فَلَمْ أَكْتُبْهُ، فَسَمِعْتُ شُعْبَةَ يُحَدِّثُ بِهِ فَعَرَفْتُهُ بِهِ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَافَرَ قَالَ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ، وَالْحَوْرِ بَعْدَ الْكَوْرِ، وَدَعْوَةِ الْمَظْلُومِ، وَسُوءِ الْمَنْظَرِ فِي الْأَهْلِ وَالْمَالِ»
English translation
ʿAbdullāh ibn Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that whenever the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ set out on a journey, he would say: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of travel, from a sorrowful return, from deviation after firm standing, from the supplication of the wronged, and from an ill-fated sight in family and property.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 253
