Three-Narrator Ahadith
Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal · Musnad ʿUrwah al-Bāriqī (may Allah be pleased with him)
Arabic
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْبَارِقِيُّ شَبِيبٌ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ الْبَارِقِيَّ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «الْخَيْلُ مَعْقُودٌ فِي نَوَاصِيهَا الْخَيْرُ» وَرَأَيْتُ فِي دَارِهِ سَبْعِينَ فَرَسًا
English translation
ʿUrwah al-Bāriqī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) ﷺ say, “Goodness is tied to the forelocks of horses [dedicated to jihād].” [Shabīb al-Bāriqī, the sub-narrator, added:] And I saw seventy horses in his quarters. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 252
