Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ visited Umm Sulaym, and she brought him dates and ghee. As he was fasting, he said, “Return your dates to their container and your ghee to its vessel.” He then went to a corner of the house and offered two voluntary rakʿahs, and we prayed with him. Afterward he supplicated for Umm Sulaym and her household with every good. Umm Sulaym said, “O Messenger of Allah, I have a small private request.” He said, “What is it?” She said, “Your servant Anas.” Anas reported: He left no good of the hereafter or of this world without supplicating to Allah to grant it to me, saying: “O Allah, grant him wealth and children, and bless him therein.” “So there was no one among the Anṣār wealthier than I.” He [Anas] also mentioned that he did not possess any gold or silver apart from his ring. He also mentioned that his eldest daughter Umaynah informed him that more than one hundred and twenty of his direct descendants had been buried by the time al-Ḥajjāj arrived in Baṣrah.
