Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ said: “There will come to you people whose hearts are softer than yours.” Then the Ashʿarīs (i.e., from the Tribe of Al-Ash’ar) arrived — among them Abū Mūsā [al-Ashʿarī] — and as they drew near to Madīnah they began chanting in poetic verse:
Tomorrow we shall meet our beloved ones — Muḥammad and his companions.
