حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ الْمَدِينِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ الْمَاجِشُونِ، حَدَّثَنِي الزَّنْجِيُّ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِزَّ الإِسْلاَمَ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ خَاصَّةً ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah! Strengthen Islam with 'Umar bin Khattab in particular.'"

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، يَقُولُ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَخَيْرُ النَّاسِ بَعْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عُمَرُ ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Salimah said: "I heard 'Ali say: 'The best of people after the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is Abu Bakr, and the best of people after Abu Bakr is 'Umar.'"

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ، عَنْ غُضَيْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَضَعَ الْحَقَّ عَلَى لِسَانِ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ بِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: 'Allah has placed the truth on the tongue of 'Umar, and he speaks with that (truth).'"
